The United States centralizes the scheduling of visitor visa interview waiver appointments in New Delhi
The US Embassy in India has implemented changes to its visa appointment procedures, specifically regarding B-1/B-2 interview waiver appointments in New Delhi. In a recent announcement on X, the embassy stated that B-1/B-2 interview waiver appointments will now be centralized in New Delhi.
Non immigrant B-1/B-2 visitor visas cater to individuals intending to temporarily enter the United States for tourism (B-2), business (B-1), or a combination of both (B-1/B-2). Applicants can still submit their application forms at any of the five Visa Application Centers without charge. Alternatively, they have the option to drop off their documents at any US Document Drop off Center in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Cochin, Jalandhar, or Pune for a fee of 850 rupees per application.
The Embassy has assured that interview waiver appointments will be readily available in New Delhi for eligible visitor visa applicants. However, due to this consolidation, a limited number of interview waiver appointments will be offered for visitor visas in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Nonetheless, applicants need not worry as appointments remain accessible in New Delhi for those eligible for the interview waiver process.
